I saw the post on local sororities & I wanted to put in my input, as I belong to a nationally affiliated sorority. Greek Life is fairly huge at my school (schools, actually. There are 2 private colleges that are on the same campus, the smaller of which is owned, but not operated, by the larger one). There are 3 sororities and 3 fraternities, even for such a small campus. Our brothers, Kappa Delta Phi, are nationally recognized, while we are not (KDP Nat. Aff. Sorority).
While we are considered the national sorority on campus (the other three Greek organizations are not national anymore, unfortunately, and the third fraternity is national), I think we still bring a lot to campus. Understandably, if we were on a nationally-affiliated campus (as one of our chapters is close by), it’s much harder which I think it unfair.
I don’t ever think of my sorority as the wanna-be PHC sorority either. The other national sororities that surround us are amazing and have accepted both our chapters as one of their own. Not to down the person who posted that, but I have tremendous pride in my sorority, as do all of our sisters. As do the sisters of the other sororities on campus. We’re based in the Northeast states (from Pennsylvania to Maine), so I consider us national and just as great as any other sorority.

I’m proud to be a member of a sorority, a member of Greek Life. Greek Life members from all walks of life, and all organizations, have made great strides in the United States. In the end, it doesn’t really matter what letters you wear, every organization is bound by the pride of being Greek.
